Wire in food and poor service mar dining experience
According to the STOMPer, his dining experience was marred by several incidents, starting with the waitress having taken the wrong orders and ‘begging’ him to take the wrongly-ordered items, to his finding a metal wire in his food.
Although the restaurant manager was apologetic about the second incident and offered the contributor a 10 per cent discount, he felt it was ‘not that big a deal’.
Said Lawrence, in an email to STOMP on July 26:
“I was at Sushi Tei Vivo City on 25 July 08 at 9 plus. T
“There was a a metal twig embedded in the cabbage that came with the paper hot pot.
“The manager was alerted. She offered a replacement, and a 10% discount that seems such a big deal to them or should be a big deal to me.
“I have no appetite for any replacement and she removed the barely touched hot pot. She informed that she would feedback to the kitchen.
“When the bill was presented, the waitress reminded us that 10% discount was given. Was 10% discount such a big deal to customer who nearly swallowed a metal twig?
“(And there was a )2nd issue. Consumers should be rightfully charged with items that they ordered and consumed. Without anyone realising, Sushi Tei charges each diner 20ct for the wet towel placed on the table.
There was no refund even if it was left untouched. Can they charge diners secretly without informing them?
